The Chopticon Braves pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Great Mills. Chopticon lost against Great Mills in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 65-60 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Chopticon saw an underclassman step up: Brian McMahon scored 18 points. The match was McMahon's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Fenwick, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Chopticon's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-1. As for Great Mills, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chopticon will challenge Leonardtown at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Leonardtown and Chopticon are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Great Mills, they will head out on the road to face off against Bladensburg at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st.
