After flying high against the College Prep of America Thunder last Monday, the Timothy Christian Trojans came back down to earth. Timothy Christian fell to Westmont 48-42. While losing is never fun, Timothy Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while Westmont is ranked 154th).
When it comes to explaining why Timothy Christian lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Stephen Hribal. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. Hribal scored a full 35.7% of Timothy Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Keizer, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Timothy Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Westmont, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timothy Christian will take on Christ the King at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Christ the King focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. As for Westmont, they will be playing at home against Islamic Foundation at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
