Ozzie Scherer gave up the fewest walks he has since back in April of 2024 on Friday. He made a splash, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He was dominant the last time he took on Filer two weeks ago, so they probably should've seen this coming. Scherer also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wood River is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Scherer and Wood River are taking a road trip to square off against Kimberly at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The last time these two faced off, Scherer and Co. were forced to settle for a 4-3 loss.
