Goldsboro HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took an 89-80 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community Christian Cyclones. One positive for the Heat, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Community Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Gattis, who went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points. The game was Gattis' third in a row with at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Briceson Martin, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Goldsboro HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Community Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
