 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Payne to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Dax Varnadore, who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns.  Aidan Rains made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
 Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 17 points in total. All came courtesy of  Conner Hughes: he went 4-for-4 kicking field goals for 12 points, and 5-for-5  kicking extra points for an additional five.
 Meanwhile, Mortimer Jordan can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game  on Friday. They strolled past Woodlawn with  points to spare, taking the game  28-14.
  Micah Gatson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 The  win  got Fort Payne back to even at 2-2. As for Mortimer Jordan, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-4.
