On Friday, Abingdon put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of Central and carried off a 50-21 win. That result was just more of the same for Abingdon, who also won the last time these teams played.
The matchup started off well for Abingdon, whose offense put up 29 first-half points. Central countered with 14 points, leaving the score at 29-14 going into the half. Abingdon put the matchup away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 4-2. The loss dropped Central's record to 1-4.
Abingdon will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Virginia. The team will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Central, they will face off against Battle. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
