Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Powers Catholic on the road against Carrollton as the team secured a 76-44 victory. Given Powers Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Carrollton is ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Javontae Ross, who scored 14 points along with 7 assists and 6 steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Dedivanaj, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Plymouth Christian Academy didn't have too much trouble with Lutheran at home on Thursday as they won 65-50.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plymouth Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ray Weber, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Dylan Beasley, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals.
Powers Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Powers Catholic hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 72 points per game. However, it's not like Plymouth Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 50 per game.
