The Marshall Academy Patriots will square off against the Washington Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Marshall Academy sitting on seven straight wins and Washington on four.
Marshall Academy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 36-0 victory over Rossville Christian Academy. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 118th in Mississippi, while the Wolves are ranked 279th in Tennessee) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Connor Floyd continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 199 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 58 yards and one score on only five carries. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (166.7). Marshall Academy's leading receiver Devin Snow was Floyd's top target yet again, picking up 121 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washington). They breezed past West Memphis Christian to the tune of 49-0 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Marshall Academy better keep an eye on Max Morgan. He was instrumental in Washington's win, rushing for 210 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Morgan's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 121 rushing yards. Doty Scott also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Washington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 329 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 208 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Washington, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Scott, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Marshall Academy's record now sits at 8-1. As for Washington, their record is now an identical 8-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Marshall Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 171.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 254.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
