Madison Southern (Berea, Ky.) running back
Damien Harris, a four-year varsity starter and one of the nation's top recruits at his position, committed to Alabama today in an announcement at his school.
He selected the Crimson Tide over Kentucky, which was long considered the favorite to land Harris after he decommitted from Michigan last January.
Harris, the nation's
No. 2 ranked running back and No. 31 recruit overall in the 247 Composite, enjoyed a highly-decorated career at Madison Southern, rushing for 6,652 yards and a whopping 109 touchdowns and earning numerous local and national honors
His senior season was slowed somewhat due to injury, but he still managed to rush for 1,507 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Harris' commitment continues Alabama's tremendous momentum on the recruiting trail. It also exacts a small amount of revenge against Kentucky, after the
Wildcats topped the Crimson Tide in the recruitment of
2014 standout Matt Elam.
