After both having extra time off, the Crestview Cougars and the Port Clinton Redskins will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Crestview's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Port Clinton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Crestview managed to slip by Western Reserve the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Roughriders on Thursday.
While Crestview had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-22.
Despite the defeat, Crestview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emma Horner had 13 digs.
Meanwhile, Port Clinton came up short against Edison on Thursday, falling 3-0.
While Port Clinton was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Edison's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-12, 25-14.
Port Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Crestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
