Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, La Joya struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Edinburg posted 11 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edinburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kimora Fagan, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Fagan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Emily Carranco was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
La Joya has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-24 record this season. As for Edinburg, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-2.
La Joya will head out on the road to square off against Economedes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Economedes is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Edinburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Edinburg North at 7:30 p.m. Edinburg North is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
