The Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They secured a 47-41 W over Manitou Springs. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but Pueblo Centennial was the better team in the second half.
Pueblo Centennial had a senior duo take command as Shon West dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds and Jeffrey Valdez scored 15 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Valdez has scored at least 25% of Pueblo Centennial's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Ruiz, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
The victory got Pueblo Centennial back to even at 5-5. As for Manitou Springs, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Pueblo Centennial will be playing at home against Lincoln at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Lincoln is ranked 180th, while Pueblo Centennial is ranked 182nd). As for Manitou Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Salida at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
