Scarborough put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Kennebunk Rams. The result was nothing new for the Red Storm, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Ryan Shugars made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Nate Masters looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Matthew Fallona was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in June of 2024. Noah Magliozzi also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Scarborough always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennebunk only posted an OBP of .375.
Scarborough's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Kennebunk, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
