Highline is 8-2 against Tyee since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Highline Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tyee Titans at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Highline came up short against Lindbergh and fell 61-49. Highline has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ebrima Hren, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jailyn Chavers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Tyee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Evergreen, falling 65-33. Tyee has not had much luck with Evergreen recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Highline's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Tyee, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Highline against Tyee in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 67-18 victory. Will Highline repeat their success, or does Tyee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
