Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Flatirons Academy

Flatirons Academy had won four straight home games and Annabelle Rakers did her part to make it five on Saturday. The Flatirons Academy Bison took their match with ease, bagging a 59-26 win over the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes thanks in part to Rakers, who dropped a triple-double on 28 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Flatirons Academy's points.

Another player making a difference was Sophie Rabus, who posted six points and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop Machebeuf lost, don't look at Penelope Mikita. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points. Justina Cichos was another key player, putting up four points along with six boards and three steals.

Flatirons Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
