Geibel Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gary Tarbuk, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Tommy Kolencik was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
California's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Neil, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Neil has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Vincent Manzella, who scored 20 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Geibel Catholic's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-14. As for California, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-10 record this season.
Geibel Catholic will be playing at home against Jefferson-Morgan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jefferson-Morgan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for California, they will head out on the road to take on Monessen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monessen is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
