Clearwater hasn't had much luck against Osceola recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tornadoes will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Clearwater will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Clearwater is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Seminole 10-0. Considering the Tornadoes have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Morgan Maske was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Wilhelm, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Juleah Patterson was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Clearwater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Osceola came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 6-2.
Like Clearwater, Osceola also got a great game from a two-way player: Aliyah Lai. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Lai was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Cassidy Allen was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jenna Neupaver, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Clearwater's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Osceola, their record now sits at 22-7.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clearwater hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Osceola struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
