The Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Jennings by a score of 30-28. Lake Charles College Prep lost against Jennings in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 27-23 score last time.
Despite the loss, Lake Charles College Prep still got an impressive performance from Mathew Higginbotham, who rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 59 yards and a touchdown.
Lake Charles College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Jennings, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Lake Charles College Prep will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kinder at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Kinder is ranked 142nd, while Lake Charles College Prep is ranked 140th). As for Jennings, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Louis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Louis Catholic will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
