Basketball Recap: East Clarendon's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After a string of three wins, East Clarendon's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to the Lake City Panthers 56-52. The Wolverines lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 73-28 score last time.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blayne Edwards, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Kenjae Burgess was another key player, putting up 14 points.

East Clarendon's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lake City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Clarendon and Williamsburg Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kingstree at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
