Vernon-Verona-Sherrill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.
Despite the loss, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill still got an impressive performance from Degaragen Paradis, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Atticus Roque, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Cazenovia, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will head out on the road to face off against Oneida at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cazenovia, they will be playing at home against Solvay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
