Basketball Recap: Westside Christian Academy Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

On Saturday, the Westside Christian Academy Eagles earned a 50-37 victory over the Kingsway Christian Eagles.

Westside Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Calvin Cottenden, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Cottenden is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xander Biederman, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Westside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Westside Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Kingsway Christian, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Westside Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. As for Kingsway Christian, they will head out to challenge Faith Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
