Kaufer is 9-1 against Freer since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Seahawks will head out on the road to take on the Buckaroos at 1:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Kaufer got the win against Ben Bolt by a conclusive 12-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Seahawks.
Zariah Gonzalez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Gonzalez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Kaufer let Leandra Allen and Leila Allen run wild. Leandra got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Leila went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Leila a new career-high. Avary Lomas was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Kaufer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Freer made easy work of Premont on Monday and carried off a 17-8 win. The Buckaroos haven't had any issues with the Cowboys recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Corina Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on one hit and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Freer got a massive performance out of Aubree Aguillon, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniela Salinas, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Kaufer's record now sits at 6-12. As for Freer, their record is now 9-7.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kaufer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Freer struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kaufer might still be hurting after the 19-2 loss they got from Freer in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
