On Saturday, things were looking good for The Athens Hornets after they put the first points on the board, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 45-28 bruising from Chapel Hill. It was the first time this season that Athens let down their fans at home.
Jamauri Manning threw for 30 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.
Athens has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Chapel Hill, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Athens will head out on the road to face off against Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Palestine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Athens likes a good challenge. As for Chapel Hill, they will face off against Kilgore at TBD on Friday. Kilgore is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
