After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wahoo, The Douglas County West Falcon were happy to have found some success on Friday. They breezed by Arlington at home to the tune of 46-12. The result was nothing new for Douglas County West, who have now won five matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Brady SInger was on fire: he rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. SInger was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryker Wohlers, who gained 105 total yards and two touchdowns.
Douglas County West's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Arlington and 1-7 Wayne (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.7% over those games). As for Arlington, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Douglas County West will head out on the road to face off against Broken Bow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Broken Bow is ranked 31st, while Douglas County West is ranked 14th). Arlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
