Soap Lake is 4-0 against Pateros since September of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Soap Lake Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Pateros Billygoats/Nannies at 7:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Soap Lake had to suffer through a rough 70-26 loss at the hands of Entiat.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jairo Lopez, who threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.0 yards per attempt. Trey Landdeck was another key contributor, picking up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Pateros, who are still winless after their sixth match. They took a serious blow against Davenport on Friday, falling 60-7. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Pateros came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Davenport is ranked 224th).
Soap Lake's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pateros, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-6.
Everything went Soap Lake's way against Pateros in their previous meeting back in October of 2021 as Soap Lake made off with a 40-14 win. Does Soap Lake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pateros turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
