The Broadway Gobblers will head out on the road to face off against the East Rockingham Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Rockingham took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Broadway, who comes in off a win.
Two weeks ago, Broadway got the win against William Monroe by a conclusive 42-21. The win was just what Broadway needed coming off of a 54-14 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, East Rockingham's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The matchup between East Rockingham and William Monroe wasn't particularly close, with East Rockingham falling 39-25.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Bentley Hensley, who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Damien Durrette, who gained 153 total yards and a touchdown.
Broadway's victory bumped their record up to 4-4. As for East Rockingham, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Broadway strolled past East Rockingham in their previous meeting back in February of 2021 by a score of 35-20. Will Broadway repeat their success, or does East Rockingham have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
