The Wakefield Wolverines will challenge the Knightdale Knights at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Wakefield: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Knightdale has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Wakefield earned a 58-50 win over Wake Forest. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Wakefield relied on the efforts of Avery Hicks, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Ethan Wisler, who posted 19 points. The game was Hicks' third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Bishop Dudley, who had five points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Knightdale hadn't done well against Heritage recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Knightdale had just enough and edged Heritage out 39-36. The 39-point effort marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Knightdale had a senior duo take command as Isaiah Green put up 14 points and seven boards and Stephen Murray earned six points along with 17 rebounds and three steals. What's more, Murray also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Brandon Adams was another key player, putting up seven points.
Knightdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Knightdale is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for Wakefield, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Wakefield and Knightdale are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Wakefield hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.6 points per game. However, it's not like Knightdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Wakefield suffered a grim 70-44 defeat to Knightdale when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will Wakefield have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
