Apollo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Desert Ridge Jaguars. Considering the Hawks have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Rey Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Apollo got a massive performance out of Elias Munoz, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI Munoz has posted since back in March of 2024. Carlos Parra was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Apollo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Ridge only posted an OBP of .286.

Apollo's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Desert Ridge, they dropped their record down to 8-18 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apollo will take on Sunnyslope at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hawks are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Desert Ridge, they will square off against West Point at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
