Baseball Recap: Sanger West Takes a Loss

Sanger West came into this matchup off a tough 11-run defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Immanuel Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Victor Valadez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Valadez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Mariscal, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Sanger West has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Immanuel, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

Sanger West has already played their next contest, a 7-3 defeat against Dos Palos on the 16th. As for Immanuel, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 victory against Firebaugh on the 16th.
