Cullman has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. After each having a week off, the Cullman Bearcats and the Clay-Chalkville Cougars will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two weeks ago, Cullman made easy work of Etowah and carried off a 35-10 victory. The win was just what Cullman needed coming off of a 34-14 defeat in their prior game.
Cullman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Sessions, who rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Buchanan, who picked up 185 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Clay-Chalkville put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shades Valley 62-7 at home. Given Clay-Chalkville's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked third, while Shades Valley is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Cullman to 5-5 and Clay-Chalkville to 9-0.
Cullman was taken down by Clay-Chalkville 48-14 when the teams last played back in November of 2015. Can Cullman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
