The Kamiak Knights will challenge the Lake Stevens Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Kamiak will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Kamiak's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Cascade as they made off with a 6-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Gabby Veighey's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kamiak's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Katie McBride, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave McBride a new career-high. Frances Famatiga was another, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kamiak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lake Stevens ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Everett 5-4. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by just one run.
Mara Sivley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on McKenna Richer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emerson Cummins, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Lake Stevens has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kamiak, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Kamiak hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lake Stevens struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Kamiak beat Lake Stevens 9-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
