While losing is never fun, Currituck County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Hertford County is ranked 117th).
When it comes to explaining why Currituck County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Morgan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kj Gallop, who scored six points along with five assists and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Currituck County and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Hertford County, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Currituck County will face off against First Flight at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. First Flight is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Hertford County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Holmes at 7:00 p.m.
