Veyda Simon stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. Vida Torres was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Southeast Career Tech never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Las Vegas. The victory continues a trend for the Roadrunners in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.
Bea Robinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Robinson was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Aysia Suyat was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Lemus, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Southeast Career Tech now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Desert Oasis, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4-1.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Desert Oasis has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .509. However, it's not like Southeast Career Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .533. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
