Baseball Recap: Reading Has No Trouble Against Wilson

After only two runs in their last contest, Reading made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wilson on Thursday. The Red KNights put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 11-0 win. The Red KNights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Janser Paredes was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Reading is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Paredes was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Frandy Ruiz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Joset Pagan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Reading was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Reading's record now sits at 8-9. As for Wilson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Reading didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against Governor Mifflin on the 1st. As for Wilson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-4 defeat against Muhlenberg on the 1st.
