The South Ripley Raiders won against the Rising Sun Shiners last Friday with 51 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. South Ripley walked away with a 51-44 win over Rising Sun. The win was familiar territory for South Ripley who now have four in a row.
South Ripley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lydia Cornett led the charge by scoring 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Obendorf, who scored 15 points.
South Ripley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Rising Sun, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Ripley will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Oldenburg Academy at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Oldenburg Academy is ranked 143rd, while South Ripley is ranked 150th). As for Rising Sun, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
