Basketball Recap: Fleming Island Takes Down Orange Park in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Fleming Island had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victor by a 58-34 margin over the Orange Park Raiders on Friday. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Fleming Island found their leader in sophomore Carson Crawford, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. What's more, Crawford also posted a 71% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Nate Lowery was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 14 points.

Fleming Island was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win (which was Fleming Island's tenth in a row) raised their record to 22-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points over those games. As for Orange Park, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

Fleming Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-58 victory against Lincoln on the 12th. Orange Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
