Jonesboro entered their tilt with Covington on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Owls.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Jonesboro was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-12.

Jonesboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landree Deats, who had six digs and four aces. Another player making a difference was Ella Gustin, who had six kills and three digs.

Jonesboro has now won 11 of their last 13 games at home. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Covington, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jonesboro is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Bynum at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Blooming Grove at 6:00 p.m.
