The Highland Hall Hawks took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (barely). In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 38-37 victory over Summit View. This was payback for Highland Hall, who suffered a 54-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Highland Hall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nico Quintanilla led the charge by scoring nine points along with five rebounds and five steals. Roman Stein-Sarceda was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Highland Hall's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0. As for Summit View, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Highland Hall will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on San Fernando Valley Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Summit View won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Westmark at 3:30 p.m. on December 13th.
