 Another reason for the win was Nokomis' imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Nicholas Huston,  Kalasandra Cook,  and  Izaak Doyen, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Tuscola, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  two weeks ago. They walked away with  a   38-28  victory over LeRoy  on Friday.
 Tuscola pushed their record up to 7-2 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Nokomis, their record now sits at 6-3.
