The Cocoa Beach Minutemen can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-47 victory over Eau Gallie. This was payback for Cocoa Beach, who suffered a 73-20 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Jay Matthews continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Garrett Ronsisvalle, who scored seven points along with six assists and four steals.
Despite the loss, Eau Gallie still got an impressive performance from Jahaziah Sierra, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Sierra grabbed two or more steals. Brock Lustic was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Cocoa Beach now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Eau Gallie, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Cocoa Beach will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Edgewood at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Eau Gallie, they will square off against West Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
