Pelham is 1-9 against Oyster River since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Pythons will square off against the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pelham barely beat Souhegan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pythons were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Sabers on Monday. The Pythons haven't had any issues with the Sabers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Caileigh Aguiar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Aubrin Berger was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kacey Normandie, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Oyster River faced Coe-Brown Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Bears 7-5.
Sammy Bishop spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kate Michaud, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliza Parks, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Oyster River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Pelham's record now sits at 9-7. As for Oyster River, their record is now 17-1.
Pelham suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Oyster River in their previous meeting back in June of 2025. Can the Pythons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
