The Orleans Bulldogs had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points), and they went ahead and made it 14 on Saturday. They walked away with a 46-36 victory over Edgewood. Given Orleans' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Edgewood is ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Orleans got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylan Crocker out in front who scored 13 points along with two steals. Xavier Alston was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Edgewood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Boggs, who scored nine points along with two blocks, and Carson Huttenlocker who scored eight points.
Orleans pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Edgewood, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orleans will take on West Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Orleans focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. As for Edgewood, they will play host again and welcome Northview, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Edgewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday.
