Nate Trunck was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carmel Christian is 3-1-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise. Trunck was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Tarr, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Carmel Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-1 (and 4-9-2 when he doesn't). Thomas Gaddy was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run.
Carmel Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee got themselves on the board against Tallulah Falls on Wednesday, but Tallulah Falls never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Indians. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Carmel Christian, they now have a winning record of 11-10-2.
