On Thursday, the Pinedale Wranglers faced the Lyman Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinedale enjoyed a cozy 63-48 win over Lyman. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pinedale.
Pinedale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Erica Wilson led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Elyn Bowers was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds.
Pinedale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Lyman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinedale will take on Jackson Hole at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson Hole comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lyman, they will be playing at home against Evanston at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Evanston is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
