McBee is 10-0 against Central since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The two teams will face off at 6:15 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
McBee's 13-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Trinity Collegiate by a score of 2-0. While losing is never fun, McBee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Trinity Collegiate is ranked 23rd).
Meanwhile, Central suffered a tough 46-22 loss at the hands of Lewisville on Wednesday. Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-4.
Despite the loss, Central had strong showings from Kabreyia Covington, who scored five points along with six rebounds, and Jordyn Griffin, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
McBee's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for McBee against Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 57-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for McBee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
