The Pine View Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Hurricane on the road to the tune of 92-62. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Pine View has managed all season.
Nash Schroeder was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Griffen Shepherd, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Hurricane's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Houston Homer, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Homer scored 15 or more points. Bryson Mccauley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Pine View has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Hurricane, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Pine View on the road again on Friday and play against Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Desert Hills will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Hurricane will take on Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Cedar is ranked 83rd, while Hurricane is ranked 82nd).
