The Providence Christian Academy Griffins had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 51-33 victory over Aquinas Academy on Friday. The win was just what Providence Christian Academy needed coming off of a 64-41 defeat in their prior match.
Providence Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Unruh out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. That's the first time this season that Unruh pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ethan Burrows was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Providence Christian Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Aquinas Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Christian Academy will take on Avon Grove Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Avon Grove Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. Aquinas Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tri-State Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
