The Florence Christian Eagles won the last time they faced the Williamsburg Academy Stallions, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Florence Christian welcomed the New Year with a 22-16 win over Williamsburg Academy.
Florence Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Leah Lambert led the charge by scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Lambert's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. Emerson Poston was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Florence Christian now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Williamsburg Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Florence Christian will host Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Williamsburg Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th.
