The Coalgate Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tushka Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Coalgate's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-24 loss at the hands of Stonewall. While losing is never fun, Coalgate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while Stonewall is ranked 39th).
Tushka suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a tough 54-34 loss at the hands of Rock Creek. Tushka was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tucker Willis, who scored six points along with four steals. Tuff Carey was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Coalgate's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Tushka, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Coalgate might still be hurting after the 37-16 loss they got from Tushka in their previous meeting back in January of 2022.
