With a playoff game on the line, the Jonesboro Eagles rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Tigers 86-39 at home. The win was familiar territory for Jonesboro who now have 11 in a row.
DeMarcus Acoff was his usual excellent self, rushing for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also picking up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Acoff's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Cisneros, who rushed for 102 yards on only ten carries.
Jonesboro's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for May, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Jonesboro will head out on the road to face off against Gordon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gordon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. May does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
